Board of Directors


Welcome to our Board of Director’s page.  We are a dedicated group of professionals that understands the power of mentoring.  We have experienced firsthand the incredible changes that occur in children when they connect and engage in positive mentor relationships.  We are dedicated to growing our agency in order ensure we continue to be a part of the lives of children in our community.  We are changing the ways children grow up in America.   To help be a part of this change, please consider a donation.

Scott Flagel, President
The Eddy

Responsible for planning and coordinating the overall development of senior housing services for The Eddy, Scott joined The Eddy network in 1992 as Director of Finance for Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center, Heritage House Nursing Center, Beechwood retirement community, and Eddy Property Services. He was promoted to Director of Operations for The Eddy in 1995, and was named to The Eddy's parent system of Northeast Health in 1997. He lives in Lake George and has been involved in the Lake George area as a board member of the Lake George Chamber and as a business owner. Scott has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks as a Big Brother and is currently President of the board.

Deborah Prendergast, Vice President
NBT Bank

Deborah is the Vice President and Branch Manager of NBT Bank in Glens Falls and is a graduate of Albany Business College. Deb is significantly involved in the community as a member of the Queensbury Kiwanis Club, Glens Falls Rotary, and helps in fundraising for Glens Falls Hospital.  

Carissa Girard, Secretary
Smith & Nephew Orthopedics, Inc
.

Carissa is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Since 2002, she has worked as a sales consultant for Smith&Nephew, Inc. Carissa resides in Glens Falls with her husband and 3 dogs. Carissa joined the BBBS board in 2009. She has been a "Big Sister" for 4 years and wanted to contribute more to an organization she truly believes in. 

Dr. William Tackett, Treasurer
Tackett Chiropractic Center

For the past 10 years Bill has owned and run his own chiropractic office in Queensbury. He and his wife and children reside in Queensbury. Bill is also on the board for the Glens Falls Senior Center as well as the Prospect Child and Family Center board.  

Rachel Sloan, Immediate Past President
Sloan Advisory Group

Rachel has been in the financial services industry since 1993. She is an active member of the community. Since 2004, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of BIG Brothers BIG Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks. She is a former BIG sister to a wonderful and talented young girl. She is a member of The Soroptimists International of the Adirondacks, a professional women’s networking and service organization. And as a member of The Friends of Moreau Lake State Park, she helps to promote the educational use and future preservation of this beautiful New York State Park. Rachel is proud graduate of Leadership Adirondack.

Nicole Cremo
Glens Falls City Schools

After being a Big to Jonathan for 4 years, Nicole decided to become further involved in the agency she believes in so much.  She enthusiastically joined the BBBS Board of Directors in 2008.  Nicole has taught third grade at Jackson Heights since 2000.  She currently resides in Glens Falls.

Lee Corsones
Warren County Sheriff's Office

Lee is a Patrol Sergeant for the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. He feels very strongly about the mission and the vision of Big Brothers Big Sisters and is happy and excited to be a new member as of 2008.

Shawna Cruikshank
Fort Hudson Health System

Shawna is the Director of Housing & Marketing Services for Fort Hudson Health System, Inc. She and her family live in Ballston Lake. Shawna believes that there is nothing more important than making a child feel special and valued as a person.

Warren Cutler
The Scooter Store

First matched in July of 1998, Warren has continually been matched as a Big Brother with Stephen, Joel, and now Dakota. Shortly after being successfully matched as a Big Brother, Warren joined the Board of Directors in 1999.  The dual role that Cutler plays as a Big Brother and Board member is very rewarding. He takes much pride in his involvement in both program and agency events. Cutler thanks his Texas based employer "The Scooter Store" for allowing him necessary time to be involved. Additionally Cutler has accumulated 25 years of service as a volunteer firefighter in the towns of Fort Edward and Wilton.

Lawrence "Larry" Elmen
Fitzgerald Morris Baker Firth, P.C.

Larry is a partner with FitzGerald Morris Baker Firth, P.C., a full service law firm located in Glens Falls, New York that services Northeast New York and he specializes in trial work involving divorce and family law, criminal defense, personal injury and commercial litigation.  Larry first participated in a school based Big Brother/Big Sisters program while attending high school (many years ago).  Larry also serves as a trustee for the Queensbury United Methodist Church and supports various community projects to provide food to local community food banks and pantries.

Jeffrey Howard
Adirondack Regional Insurance Agency, Inc.

Jeff is the CEO of Adirondack Regional Insurance Agency Inc. and a graduate of Adirondack Community College. Jeff has been a local Insurance Agent for over 20 years and founded Adirondack Regional Insurance Agency Inc. in 1997. His business has two locations; one at 625 Bay Road in Queensbury and the other is at 3810 Main Street in Warrensburg.

Dave Lebel
Andritz, Inc.

Dave is the Manager of Process Technology for Andritz Inc. He has been on the BBBS board since 1999 and had held positions on the Executive Board during this time. In the past, Dave himself has been a Big Brother with the agency. The mission and vision of Big Brothers Big Sisters is something that Dave believes in tremendously. 

Bert Rappaport
Retired

Bert retired as Director of Therapeutic Recreation at Helen Hayes Hospital (NYSDOH) in 2004, and currently resides in Queensbury with his wife, Terri. Bert has served on the BBBSSADK Board for one year and has been a Big Brother for three years. He is a member of the Glens Falls Kiwanis Club and an avid skier. He and Terri have a daughter, Amy, who is pursuing graduate studies in molecular biology on Long Island.

Patty Suprenant
Stewart's Shops

Patty has worked with Stewart's Shops since 1982. She is currently District Manager with oversight and responsibility for all shops located within Northern Saratoga County. She currently resides in the historic town of Fort Edward in Washington County with her husband, Mitch. She joined the Board in 2009 and is excited to be a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks. She is passionate about children and making a positive impact in their lives through mentoring. 

Bernice Waterston
Umicore

Bernice is the Staff Accountant for Umicore. She is currently taking part in Leadership Adirondacks. Bernice has been on the BBBS board of directors for over four years.

Scott Watson
Watson & Son LLC


Scott works his family owned business Watson & Son LLC and has been on the board of directors for BBBS for over five years.

Mindy Wilson-Beaudet
Community, Work & Independence, Inc.

Mindy is currently the Director of Human Resources for Community, Work & Independence, Inc. where she has been employed since 2003. She is a graduate of The College of St. Joseph with a BA in Organizational Leadership. Mindy lives in Fort Ann with her husband; they enjoy hiking and have recently taken up skiing. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.   Mindy joined the board in January of 2010 and became involved with BBBS because she feels that the mission is a noble and arduous one that serves so many in the community she resides in. Mindy is looking to give back to her community and make a contribution to the organization's extraordinary mission.
